Designer Brands had a LE range of polishs called SAVVY by DB. Here are my top picks!

An oldie, but goodie - BYS! They've got the trends and are generally very affordable.
My collection has an extensive range of BYS polishes in many finishes - I chose a few to show today.

You had to be there!

Today I'd like to share with you something that happened on Saturday -
we had a face-to-face with some beauty bloggers and IG'ers (?) from Perth!!!
There is actually a few more girls in the area, but they couldn't make it unfortunately (((
Here is a group pic:
Who cares about what we look like, it's all about the nails, right?! Haha!
Clockwise from the top: Courtney, Brie, Luisa, myself and Julz.
It was so much fun to hang out with the girls and just chat about anything and everything
- can't wait to do it again!

Before the rendezvous, I met up with Julz and we did some damage!!! It was awesome)))
Read more about her haul here.
Read on for more details.

Where in the World - Day 17 Singapore

I remember visiting the Orchid Gardens in Singapore, so that's what I came up with:
A Blue Singapore Orchid.

Going Down Under: Nine West

Another hidden gem - Nine West nail polish!
At $2.95 each these are a steal!
The bottle actually says "Made in Australia", so this one counts for sure))

Going Down Under: MIMCO

Did you know MIMCO sell nail polish?
Well, now you do!
I stumbled across these beauties while bargain hunting at my local outlet mall
(Harbour Town for all you Aussie ladies) - at $5 each how could I pass them?

The BATTLE (Nail Polish) Challenge - Week 9

Next installment of the Battle Challenge is themed Duochrome vs Foil.
I had to use both (although I prefer foils because they are great for stamping)

Going Down Under: MIKI

Today I am pleased to show some more Aussie beauties.
Strictly speaking, these are made in Taiwan; but since they are available
in every Terry White chemist, I'm calling them Australian.

Trying a different kind of sandwich

I originally came up with the idea of a stamping sandwich, when working on this design.
The black and white graphic print was on my hands already,
when I decided to swatch a polish that came in the mail. The result was amazing!!!

The idea stuck, and here is the latest version:
Natural Light
I used this Avon Matte Violetta as a base, even though I knew it was going to be glossy in the end,
because it's a fantastic one coater polish!

Making your $$$ work - Take Two

Ok... so I know this has been done before, but bear with me.
I wanted to show how I use this method (not only for glitter removal, but for dark, staining colours too)
in a way that doesn't require running to the store for a fresh roll of foil every week LOL

Pick the odd one out!

Recently I was going through my Helmer, making room for some new goodies,
and I noticed some similar polishes - here are some quick comparison swatches.

(All polishes swatched in the order of the bottles, 2 coats unless noted)

L-R: ulta3 allure; Maybelline Color Show Amethyst Ablaze; Mode Blue Steel

ulta3 and Maybelline are close, but the opacity is different (ulta3 needs more coats).

Where in the World - Day 15 Germany

Today I have my Germany inspired design. Well, actually it was inspired by this dress:
And since Diane Kruger is German, I figure this counts ))

Announcing Australia month!

It's summer Down Under! What does this mean for the blog?

As some of you might know, Australia Day is January 26,
so I decided to spend a bit of time this month showcasing the Australian brands that I love!

I know many have heard of Picture Polish and Ozotic (great brands I've heard, but out of my price range);
but I wanted to focus on the brands that are more affordable, as well as showing Aussie indies.
We have many talented ladies, who make incredible polish!

So stay tuned this month for special reviews!

Jealous much?
